Wildlife of the World is a series of books for 8 to 13 year olds by Welsh wildlife photographer and conservationist Hugh Lansdown. Each book in the series is filled with Hugh's superb photos of animal life from a particular country or region of the world, and also includes links to related on-line videos, slide-shows and sound clips. Sweden in Winter
Hugh has just returned from a very interesting week exploring central Sweden. There's not a lot of wildlife about in February, with most animals dormant or hibernating, but he saw some lovely birds-of-prey including golden and white-tailed eagles, a superb little hawk owl and the beautiful male goshawk below with his glaring red eyes!.

Scandinavia

Ecuador
Hugh has now returned from his most recent expedition in search of special animals such as tapeti, kinkajou and the rare spectacled bear in the cloud forest and high Andes of Ecuador. See how he got on in his trip report here...
